Data Tools for Monitoring and Program Improvement

Advisors monitor program performance using a customized Access database populated with data from eData.

The MIS/Tech Support State Leadership Project provides monthly data check reports to programs so they can monitor the completeness and accuracy of their data entry. The project provides the same report to the advisors, who contact the programs to discuss items of concern.

Pennsylvania's eData system and its associated Access database allow programs to view and utilize their data. Using the database, programs can examine data using built-in or customized reports. Some of the built-in reports mimic the federal reporting tables which allow data to be examined at the program, class, or teacher level.

Advisors provide technical assistance to programs on a regular basis to discuss current program data and program enrollment and performance trends.

Programs are required to submit an annual data validation sheet to ensure that they have examined their data and certify that it is accurately reported.
