- Missouri has a Continuous Improvement Plan (CPI) for its Adult Education and Literacy Programs, outlined online.
https://dese.mo.gov/adult-learning-rehabilitation-services/adult-education-literacy - Based on the Missouri Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) State Plan, the state AEL office is required to conduct on-site reviews of all AEL programs at least once every 5 years. This review process includes grant/contract compliance, data, program operation, and fiscal reviews.
Missouri is one of the states that uses a performance-based funding formula for its adult education programs. Beginning in 2012, 10% of funding will be based on the prior years’ performance. These documents explain the budget process.
